The day was scorching hot. The sun beat down mercilessly as the entire country was gripped in a killer heatwave. I wanted some cold fruits. It was denied for petty reasons...so I sat on the verandah watching the sunset and ...
Suddenly a blue haze appeared on the horizon. It shimmered as it came closer. Faster and faster it came. Until my entire vision was engulfed in its awesomeness. I stared in wonder and amazement. It was Alladin on his magic carpet! He held out his hand and as I touched it I was whisked away to a magical world. Or rather orchard. Full of huge trees moaning with their load of ripe rich fruit! Sweet bananas, juicy strawberries, luscious cling peaches and litchi to die for! Rich red skin and sickly sweet! The piece de resistance was the small, delicious, sun soaked mangoes! Ice cold as if they were in the freezer! How? I asked? Alladin just smiled. Don't question it, he cooed, it's your wish, enjoy it while it lasts! And so I did! To my heart's content!
I drank from an ice cold stream afterwards, cold water running down my esophagus. Cooling down the dehydration of the day! Coolness, glorious coolness!
Thank you Alladin, I said, for granting me the small pleasures of life! Until next time, he cooed, as he whisked me back to reality 😀
